Red Deer Baby Photographer | Suzanne Taylor Photography

When you see a beautiful baby what do you see?  What do you feel?  In my experience, most people have feelings of love, warmth, joy and happiness as they gaze upon the little person that is in front of them.  Now – imagine you can capture all of those emotions to look back on with a loving smile whenever you felt like it, especially as you watch that sweet, darling little baby grow.  Hiring Suzanne Taylor Photography as your Red Deer Baby photography will assure you will have heirloom images forever hanging on your walls, living in an album or being shared numerous times online as you wish, bringing joy to all of the people special to you and your life.

What make Red Deer Baby Photography different than Red Deer Newborn Photography?

As a Red Deer Baby Photographer, I have had the pleasure to photograph so many beautiful babies over the course of my photography career to date.  I am also not talking about Newborn Photography – which I certainly do, but I really want this post to focus on the beauty of babies between 1 and twelve months of age.  These are some of the best moments of a child’s life in my humble opinion and I think that capturing a baby’s image as they begin to come into themselves and grow into their personalities is so rewarding for both the parent and myself as a Red Deer Baby photographer.  My newborn photography can be viewed here if that is what you were hoping to find.

Does my Baby have to be sitting up to do a shoot?

Well – it depends a lot of the time on the age of your baby as well as their skills and abilities for their age range.  I have some photography friends that REFUSE to shoot babies until they are sitting up on their bums.  For some baby’s that happens at 6 months and for other baby’s (like mine) they were over 9 months before they sat up by themselves unassisted.  I remember trying to find a photographer for my babies at six months and I had not one person I contacted prepared to do a shoot for me – strictly because it wasn’t marketable.

What?

Serious?

I was floored at that response that until my sweet darling triplet babies could sit up they were not worth the time of three photographers that I contacted.  That amazed me because babies do NOT have to sit up to have the most amazing images taken of them.  That goes right along with my beliefs about photography and what makes an image art.  You do not have to do the ‘status quo’ or repeat the same images that you see a million other photographers doing in order to catch images that are amazing and beautiful.  This was the image I took of my triplets when they were six months old – tell me that this wasn’t something any mother would like to have on her wall.

And here they were a whole six months later…

When is the Best Time to Photograph a Baby?

The best time to have your Red Deer Baby photographed is exactly…

…when you want to have them photographed.

Suzanne Taylor Photography would NEVER turn away a photography session based on the milestones that create the ‘best look’ for images to be used for portfolio building and competition.  As a parent with four children, when I want new pictures of my children I research and find someone capable and willing of wrangling a now almost 6.5 year old and 4 year old triplets.  I look for a photographer who can go with the flow, be relaxed and appreciate every moment that my children are moving, playing and being happy.  That is the kid of photographer I am – the one that can take her time catch those precious moments your baby creates by smiling, cooing, laughing, staring or even spitting up.  It is part of their history and more importantly the starting point of what makes them who they are and who they will grow up to be.
