Family Photos in Red Deer, Alberta by Suzanne Taylor Photography

Family Photos in Red Deer, Alberta is one of my favourite parts of summer.  Every year, Suzanne Taylor Photography is booked to the hilt with families who are looking for beautiful, authentic and real images of their family.  Sometimes these families have not had pictures done in years – others have them done at least once if not twice a year.  What makes each session essential and something different though is that every family has a vision of what they are looking for, and often as we move forward through the family photography session, the natural flow of the family members starts to move the family into the direction we end up embracing and enjoying for the remainder of the photography session.

This family was no different.  When Anne booked Suzanne Taylor Photography for her family’s summer photo session, she had in mind a very traditional photography session – filled with beautiful portraits of her family – and especially her boys.  Anne wanted Suzanne Taylor Photography to capture them exactly as they were – with one graduated, one graduating and the last one well on his way.  Often I get a lot of family photo sessions requests around graduation time because it is such a busy time – we forget how quickly all of this is happening and remember – almost last minute that this is happening.  I get it 100%.  I know how fast time is elapsing in my own home and that my babies are no longer babies and are on their way to independence and taking their first steps towards becoming who they are.

Family photos in Red Deer are also one of my favourite subjects to shoot because as a photographer I pick up and notice the energy between family members and in a split second, I can typically sum up the kind of relationship that the two people share.  Mom’s and their children are some of my favourites to watch – mostly because all children are EXTREMELY different.  Even identical children have different personalities and natures that present as their body language changes, the energy changes and the style of pose changes between each couple.  I could immediately identify the style of relationship that Anne had with each of her babies – even though they are mostly all grown up *sniff*.

Family Photos in Red Deer are always about much more than just photos.  They are an opportunity to reconnect, share, love and spend time with each other in one of the most meaningful ways possible.  These moments are captured and preserved for so many lifetimes down the road…it would be impossible to count the number of people that will look back on your family photos over the years and smile – knowing the kind of family you had and the love shared between its members.
